Thistle im sure

    Ive never see these before but they sure look like thistles to me

    Wow thank you toni is it from the thistle family im guessing that its not in full bloom yet is this right toni

    True Thistles and Liatris are both in the Aster family but seperate at the Genus....
    Thistles are in the Cynareae tribe - family Asteraceae
    Liatris is in Genus: Liatris- family Asteraceae

    You're right, the Liatris bloom opens from the top down so it hasn't fully bloomed yet.

    The flower shop I help out at uses a lot of Liatris.
    Pretty purple!
