Recently an uninvited but not unwelcome plant appeared in my garden. It is about 20"high The "head" is totally thistle like and the leaves are prickly but are essentially lanceolate. The heads form at the top of the plant on aprox 2" stems which are arranged in a rough circle but with some slightly higher than others. The reason that I would keep it is that it's flowers are deep yellow and orange (perhaps one turning to the other. It bloomed whilst I was on holiday and now seems to be drying and dying off in spite of being well watered. I would dearly love to find out what it is! Phil
