    Most excellent! I love to hear that. Do they live here? I have seen some emeraldish beetles before, but don't know if this is one of them though.

    They do live in your area...Their range is
    SE. Canada and E. US, incl. Great Plains states, but they are absent from the Gulf Coast area.

    Something to look for on my next walk through the woods. I surprised the color does not make it an easy target for predators but apparently that is not the case.
