As i was on line and posting here in the forum a few moments ago,..there was a huge bang,..went outside to see was it my car,..luckily it wasn't,..but just a few yards from my front door a huge tree had blown down,..on checking to see was anyone under it thankfully nobody there or passing.

We have Storm Force winds with rain and hailstones.

Wow, that was too close for comfort. Glad all is okay at your place.

The ice storm a couple of weeks ago brought down huge trees all over the area, into houses, cars and into the streets. We have two 40+foot tall Pecan and Hackberry trees that I hope don't decide to go 'belly up' on our house or the neighbors.

Happy to hear that no one or nothing was damaged (besides the tree and the ground). Bet it was scary though.

Thank goodness you and Molly were inside and safe! I hope the storm subsides and no more damage is done. Losing a tree is sad, but with no one hurt and no damage to property, it could have been worse.

Thank goodness that tree didn't land on either the house or your car Philip. We're having exactly the same weather you are at the moment and everything is creaking and groaning outside. I'll find out tomorrow what damage, if any, has been done around the village.
I hope all the cats, Molly and you are safe and tucked up warm away from the dreadful weather.

Oh my stars Philip, I forgot to mention the cats! Please don't tell them. I hope they are all safe and warm and happy, also.

Hi Folks,..nobody hurt,..all the pets were indoors,..and just to show you how close this was to my house,..plus the right of way people have to walk through this narrow passage and they do pretty often,..its the tree nearest the houses my house is beyond the one on the left.

That was a big tree, Philip. I am glad to hear you are all safe. Doesn't your town take care of the fallen trees? or did you just do it to get it done? Around here The town or township takes care of any thing that falls on the roads. If it is on private property then it is the property owners responsibility. So, since Kevin is a township trustee he gets to go help the road superintendent clean up if he is needed. Thankfully that hasn't happened very often.

Hi Carolyn,..the Town Council would have cut the tree and removed it,..the next day,..it was blown down at 0930 Wed night,.. they did remove it but not until midday,..as there were more important roads blocked,..i am in a cul-de-sac,.. knowing this was possibly going to be the case i decided to have the tree cut and the road cleared,..my car was blocked in :D
