Gardening has to be the activity I enjoy the very most. When it gets to cold to work outside, I like to work on my genealogy. I started this about 13 years ago. I secretly wrote to relatives, via 'snail mail', and gathered enough information to build my Father a Family History book for Christmas. I saw this book yesterday and realized I was long overdue for an update ... my youngest daughter wasn't even in the book (she's 10!)
So I dragged out the box to review my notes, and started writing to relatives that I found on Facebook. I have been to Ancestry.com, Family Search, and read the message boards for various countries. Now I just need to brush up on my German! The internet makes it so much easier to find information and write to relatives. I know Toni has the bug, but does anyone else here enjoy genealogy??

I was into it years ago. One of my aunts has done most of the work tracing my dad's side of the family back to Italy (early 1700s). All without a computer. She must have kept the post office afloat with all the stamps she used.
It's pretty much filled in... except for the newer generations.
On my mom's side of the family we've only gone back to the 1800s in Louisiana. It is very addicting. And with the internet... it's so much easier to fill in the blanks.

My mom did it for awhile. She seems to have taken a break from it though. Some of it is difficult,l trying to figure out who was married to who and who were their children and which child is your ancestor...Ive found a few names in my tree that dont seem to quite match up though >:/ I do know I have English and Scottish ancestors on my moms side :D Id like to do my tree on my dads side though!
