Time to see the ducks.

    Have a lot of birds visiting the deck. We had 18 different species one day last week. Including 3 of the 4 woodpeckers that come. But, it was time to see the ducks. they come here from the prairies for the winter. Here is a goldeneye male.

    Oh, I wish we had those on our little pond! Thank you for the super photo, Kildale.
    We have a pair of Mergansers and the occasional Gadwall right now. Our pond is full, thanks to the recent rains, so we may get more ducks soon.

    I see three species of Mergansers, but not the Gadwall, you should post a picture of one in you can.

    I'm always fascinating with mother nature's coloring skills. Such great markings.
