Groan. I have done it, I have joined our local 'fat club' so I can shed some of my excess baggage. I detest dieting, I love food, but I can't lose weight alone, I need the shame if you will, of weighing in public and explaining myself. I am quite competitive so once I am in the swing of it, I enjoy trying to lose more than my chums that have also joined. Groan again. I've done it before, I am your typical yoyo, so I will do it again. Groan.

I think it's too easy to gain in the winter because the weather sometimes prevents you for getting outside and doing a lot of walking and other exercise that you do during the other seasons. You'll work it off when you can begin to do more things outside. We know how active you usually are. dooley

well, I understand. I hate to exercise too. but I started. the other tip I just heard was do not eat after 6:00 pm. your pancreas and liver have time to rest. you should have a 12 hour window of rest for them. I am really trying not to eat or drink anything except water after 6 pm. no coffee no tea. I do believe it is making a difference.

Cutting way down on carbs and almost no desserts helped me drop from almost a size 18 to a size 12 in two years.....and working in the garden just about every day.
I typically eat only one meal a day. If I eat breakfast, then I am hungry again by noon....then I eat lunch and am starving by supper. So I just drink a glass of milk around noon and again in the afternoon then eat supper later. I never feel hungry in the meantime and the protein in the milk keeps my blood sugar at the right level.....I have had hypoglycemia since I was 16 so the protein is my friend.

    Good luck with your project.
I hope that you can get stuck-in with your regimen.
Aside from your group of chums there, you can see that there are folks here to support you too.
I reckon that once the spring begins to set in and you begin doing your work, that your extra weight will begin melting away.
    Hang in there.

Thanks everyone. I know the digging, raking and weeding will help.

You are a brave woman EJ! I have gained a ton of weight since gardening season ended here, but I would never want to weigh in with witnesses!
I've been trying to behave the past few weeks, but the weight never comes off as easily as it goes on!
