Ok,, I love vintage kitchen tools and some that are not so vintage. I was at a thrift store and found an item that I have looked at for three days and still cannot figure its use. So I am needing extra brain power here. It is made by Tupperware and that is all it says. It is shaped like a lazy S, it is six inches long, on the using part, as opposed to the handle, It has a one inch area with teeth, then a smooth edge, then more teeth, at the end it has two prongs with the tips turned back, as if to keep something from sliding off. I think it was probably one of the things that are given away at Tupperware parties. Does anyone know what this is used for? I can`t take pics with this computer. And I have not found it on the web.

I don't know what it could be, but I found this site on Vintage tupperware. It has catalogs for 1956-1964.

    Hope this helps!

I used to be a Tupperware Manager and think I know the gadget you describe Mart? Is this it by any chance?

If it is then it's a Tupperware SLI saw it all tomato cutter.
These were/are great for sawing and slicing tomatoes or any fruit or vegetables.
The handy picks at the top are for picking up slices and arranging.
You're right they were given away free at Tupperware parties. You can still buy these 'vintage' gadgets but you'll have to pay at least $6.99 for one these days.

Yes, Thats it, Eileen ! Thanks so much everyone.I knew it had to be something like that but I would not have guessed tomato slicer. I think I gave $.25 for this one. And I found an Italian garlic press by Heller from the 40`s for a dollar. I just love to shop thrift stores for unique kitchen items. You never know what you will find. And thanks for the links Netty, I have a few pieces I need to look up. I almost had a heart attack when I saw some of the going prices on vintage Tupperware. I knew it was starting to be collectable but I didn`t know how collectable it was till then.

You certainly got a great bargain at the thrift store Mart. Keep looking - you're sure to find some more unusual items to add to your colection. :-D

Don`t worry, I try to go at least once every two weeks or so. I think half my kitchen came fron places like that. I just don`t like tools without a bit of history behind them .

My mum used to have one of those. I have inherited some of her tupperware...it has stood the test of time that's for sure.
