I was "talking" to Glenda this morning and mentioned my TO DO list. I've found over the years I get more things accomplished if I have a to do list. I make a list of things I'd like to get done in the day. This morning my list included putting the apricots that I picked yesterday in the freezer, raking up the spoiled, dropped apricots and trashing them and mowing the weeds. I did get the apricots washed, cut up and pitted and put into the freezer. I had six bags with six cups of apricots in each bag. I did get apricots raked and trashed for the most part. I still have some clean up work on that tomorrow. I did not get the weeds mowed. I'll have to have that on my tomorrow's list. I also have making plum jam or jelly on my tomorrow's list as a man who lives next to Dan's library gave me bags of purple plums. I really find that I get more done with a list than if I just get up and wing it. What do you think or do? dooley
Lists Dooley; My life is one long list! I wouldn't accomplish much without it. I developed that habit as a nurse and now in my "senior" year my lists replace my brain. I have a list for groceries, one for gardening, one for errands, one for e-mails and correspondence. I may end up with a list for my lists!! I have them everywhere - on my fridge, on my coffee table, in my purse and on my computer. When did life get so complicated? Maybe the answer is aging. I used to keep all these lists in my head. Carol
I used to make a weekly 'to-do' list every Sunday evening, every item was listed in order of importance and on Monday morning I started at the top of the list working my way down during the week. My days were a drag and I very seldom had time for fun things so I stopped. The last few years the closest I come to to-do lists are appointments and things like that on the calender so they aren't forgotten. And of course the 'honey-do' list for Randy.
I as Dooley knows make lists and then never do what my list says so don't make them any more a waiste of as they will not get done anyway.
About the only time things get wrote down are when I see a month where I Have something going every week, then I'll keep that info on the calendar. Otherwise I'm usually busy enough w/o keeping a list.
I make a big list knowing I wont get it all done. But looking back at whats checked off each day, I've usually done more than I realized.
I had quite a long list today beginning with an estate sale and ending with watering the vegetables in pot...I think I accomplished a lot today. Not at all like a day off though. dooley
I have lists everywhere. With my rotten memory, I need them. Besides, at the end of a tiring day, when all I can see is what didn't get done, it's awfully nice to have a checked-off list to remind me of what I did do!
I wing it! The only time i make a list is for the grocery store, thats it. The way the weather is here, we never know if its going to be like living in a desert one day or snow the next. So i go by whats going on outside then just do what i need to. Inside on the snowy or rainy days, i look around and do what needs to be done then. I can't plan here, the Arctic don't let ya! lol.
