Here is a picture lit at night.

Cleaning out my garage as we where doing our holiday decorating, I had this idea to use my tomato cages "off season". Afterall, why should they sit around collecting dust!

I used two pine garlands, some twist wire and one string of outdoor lights to create this little lit tree in our entrance. I made a gold bow for the top.

Some of the yard art is really pricey! This cost me nothing, I had everything in the garage to complete this project. And storage after Christmas, garland and lights back in a rubbermade tote, and the tomato cage will serve me well again in the spring!!

That's a great idea Buda. And you have the added bonus of feeling all clever inside whenever you see it. Brilliant :)

Buda, that is very clever and pretty, bet it looks really nice when the lights are on.
That is such a good idea, wish I had a porch where I could put one of those.

Absolutely lovely! I want to walk up to your front door, ring the bell and tell you that your entrance area looks very welcoming.

That is beautiful when lit up.
Just had an idea, ouch they don't happen often and sometimes when they do they give me a headache

I have a tomato cage, a plug at the corner of our small porch where a water fountain is now but that can be stored for a while. I can make one too. Now I guess I have to take down the decoration box to see what I have on hand.

    Way to go Toni!
This would work well with just lights, ribbon and bows or even pinecones wire on. I am going to make a couple more myself!
Be sure to post some pictures here! We would love to see what you come up with!

Wow, that was totally worth waiting for my dialup to load it. What a brilliant idea! Would be fun to do a garden-themed Christmas tree with a tomato cage!

Ooooh, I am so ripping off your idea. It is hard to find Christmas decorations here and the few I see are a)ultra gaudy and b)overpriced. I have tomato cages! I have lights! I don't have garland but I have plenty of rosemary and wire. Thank you for sharing this idea, it has made my day.
