All of them were started from seed on the same day. I transplanted the ones on the left about 2 weeks ago. I just did the ones on the right 3 days ago. I was really surprised, well pleased, with the growth explosion from the early transplanted ones. It really makes me wish I had done them all but I guess I need some staggered growth anyway.

This really shows the result of getting your tomato seedlings buried as early as possible.I buried all of them as deeply as possible only leaving 1/2 inch of the stem above the soil. I have not culled all of them to one plant yet because I don't have a stronger plant in the pots that have 2. If neither takes over I will see how they do together since I have 5 of each and another dozen pots of 5 more different varities getting started.

It will be 10 days before the others need to be done but as you can see the ones on the left need their second transplant as soon as I can get the pots to do so.

Thank you both, I am just happy to be having some success after last years debackle.

I started too early to be honest but most of the tomatoes and peppers I can keep indoors because I am gonna bury them 2-3 times before putting them outside.

All the rest of my plants will just have to either endure the cold or I will have to start them over.

They are coming along well, aren't they. Now, if the weather will co-operate, you can get those outside in a while.
