I started my tomatoes and cucumbers from seeds....I planted those seeds a month ago...how long do you think before they start fruiting? The plants are doing good....
hello, If you look on the back of the package of seeds it will tell you how many days you have. I mark on my calendar when the day will be because I always forget. I planted mine the last week of april and the are about tennis ball size but still green. Make sure to check for tomato worms, they love a juicy tom. girlgoneorganic
Hey, you have to keep an eye on them. I go out each night and look under the leaves for the worms and yell for my kids to come smash them !! As long as you keep looking and catch them early you will be okay!! girlgoeorganic
Now from what you tell me since you planted in April and now you are getting tomatoes, I figured it takes two months to get them.... Thanks for warning me about the worms.....
Also look on your leaves for signs of worm droppings. If you see some then there is a worm somewhere.
I read on another forum about another method that has worked for some people. You squeeze the bottom branches with two fingers and it releases a toxin that kills the worms. I haven't had a big problem with these, thank God, but the people who have used it swear by it. They say that they examine the plants several days later and find dead worms on them. I guess it couldn't hurt to try it. LoreD
