Since it's fall, I've been planning my garden for next year, I'd like to grow some tomatoes and peppers, specifically Jalapeno and habanero peppers. Does anyone have any advice or tips for growing tomatoes and these peppers? I've been doing my research.

What are you going to do with the tomatoes? are you looking for a slicer for sandwiches, a juicer, a paste for sauce, something for salsa, a cherry tom? red, yellow, pink, orange? I would take a pink one any day over a red or yellow tomato. I have a couple of yellow cherry tomatoes that are excellent, I would plant them in a heartbeat, again. One called lemon drop the other called sunsugar. Let us know more so we can All give you our opinion/experience.

The peppers need full sun all day. I grew about 50 peppers in 2 rows next to the apple trees this year, Bad choice. I thought they would have enough light, but they didn't. They hardly produced anything. They had full sun from about 12:00 until dark. evidently they need full sun from the sunrise on. The other rows had full sun from am to sunset and they did much better, they actually had peppers on them.

For toms sungold, sungold, sungold, sungold, its a great cherry tomato super sweet and very flexible for cooking. It also produces great harvest and super easy to grow. as for other toms with you being in florida try and pick varieties with good anti disease properties.

as for peppers i grow thai dragon chillis. three plants in a 10" pot works great.

chillis need lots of sun and warmth.
toms try and put them where a breeze will blow through to keep the leaves dry.

The yellow pear tomatoes are really good, however you can't beat the heirloom varieties. Pineapple, Black Krim, Lemon Boy, Valencia Orange, Mortgage Lifter Pink, and Cherokee Purple.
