Thanksgiving night the temps got down into the 20's, but fortunately we had picked all our tomatoes that morning (my husband was thrilled to spend Thanksgiving morning picking tomatoes and peppers! ).
The tomatoes have been ripening on my folding table in the laundry room (which explains the wrinkles in our clothing). Enough are ripe that I'll be canning tomatoes this morning. I must admit, this is the latest I've ever canned tomatoes. I'm usually baking Christmas cookies on this date!

First time for me too, MG--I wonder if it is going to be a trend for a few years.

Lucky you! Oh what I would do for a home grown tomato right now. I ate the last one from my garden way back the first week of October!

Wow! I'm impressed. I have some tomatoes ripening in my back room but there won't be enough to can. But, I've got plenty of tomatoes put by for soup and sauces.

Canning tomatoes in December. Never heard of such a thing. I'll have to settle for home grown tomatoes on my burgers this weekend. LOL!
