This is an iris that Toni sent me a couple of years ago. I really thought they were purple/blue last year. But, maybe those are still coming.

Well, one of them bloomed. I uploaded two pics of the same bloom.

I'm still waiting for mine to poke up through the snow. Maybe if we have a thaw and some sunshine they'll feel like showing themselves. You must let us see yours again when the buds open up.

Dooley, I think I remember you having a purple one last year maybe it's just a little later blooming than the yellows.

My first one opened last week and the others are coming along at a steady pace. I have 6 patches of them around the back yard, all have at least 6 buds and/or blooms.

Did I forget to tell you that they multiply quite easily? Mine, and all I have sent to others, came from an original package, I don't remember how many, a few years ago, but it probably wasn't over 15 in the package

Toni's right... they certainly multiply. I'm not getting alot of blooms.... probably 5 right now. I think it's because they are too crowded.
When is the best time to thin them out?

Any time after they stop blooming is best, that way they have several months to get the roots settled in before Spring. You can do it in the Spring when they first start popping up but you won't get any blooms that year.
