There was a plant exchange in town and I looked at it as a way to clean up the yard some and get rid if the excess of potted plants hanging around. Have pretty much exhausted my coworkers. Pulled all the impatients out of the ground for someone who might want to winter them over. (Had already given away my hanging pots of them) Now I can divide the primroses again and get them in that place. Got rid of several summer pots of autumn joy sedums, raspberry plants, heather and fern starts. Also thinned out the house plants. I really need to stop taking starts :-?

I filled the back of my Subaru and wasn't planning on bringing anything home. Do you think that worked? Of course not. Too many freebies. Three yuccas, three carex (varigated grass) and three Oregon grape for the street strip bed I am redoing this winter. For the woodland garden I got some native piggy-back plants that should look good in the trillium bed. Then four nice clumps of asiatic lilies (easily 20 single bulbs). Then one house plant, a sorry looking ledebouria solialis.

Although good news, I now have to figure out a lay-out find time to get these in the ground/pot. Guess the dishes and vacuuming will wait a little longer. Good thing my hubby isn't a clean freak, because he is married to a slob of a house keeper. The yard usually looks pretty good though :stew2:

Gosh I wish I'd been there with you. Those freebies look good - well apart from the sad ledebouria solialis. However I'm sure with a little TLC from you it will be just fine.
So ... now you have to admit it ... you're a, through and through, plant addict just like the rest of us who simply can't turn down free offers of plants. :D

Yes Eileen definitely addicted. Embarrassingly so. Considering there were two, hundred-foot hoop houses filled I did show remarkable restraint though. At least that is what I keep telling myself.

Cherylad, I hope they like it here. The poor ledebouria had been over watered, but was so crowded I got three pots from it. By April it should be looking good.

Philip, starting plants instead of composting is definitely a bad habit. If I keep it up I will have to attend another plant swap in the spring.

Oh yeh, there are much worse plant addicts out there then most of us here at the stew. The lady that hosted the swap has had to turn her addiction into a garden nursery and half the people there came with trucks and left with them overflowing. All my raspberries and impatients and half the other plants were gone before I'd made it half way through the first hoop house. :D It always feels good to know there are people even more addicted to plant collecting. Makes me feel very conservative ;)

Kiasmum, I can tell you would have been one of the people with plants sticking out of the auto from all sides :D

I looked online to see what the ledebouria will be looking like. I think it will fit right in with my low maintenance plants. Will definitely want to show what a beauty it can be. :stew1:
