When Spring weather comes it usually isn't as pretty as snow. At least four tornados - two others haven't been confirmed yet, hail from dime to softball size (3.5 inches), lots of lightning, straight line winds 80-90 miles per hour, 6 inches of rain causing the threat of flash floods as the storms swept across north Texas, the heaviest were about 30 miles north of me. http://www.nbcdfw.com/weather/stories/T ... 94181.html http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/severe-w ... 21991.html
The last two good rain events that have occurred up here have gone west to east across the counties just north of me. It seems like they see the Dallas County line and back away from it like it's an electric fence. I live less than 5 miles from the county line and not even a wisp of the clouds comes this far down. I am guessing I have fallen behind on my payments to Mother Nature, but I lost her address and she hasn't answered my calls so looks like no rain here still.
Mother Nature has been ignoring us, too. Last night we were supposed to have "pop-up thunderstorms". They popped up somewhere else. All we got was wind, which we do not need. We are using our stored rainwater for the gardens and chicken drinking water, but if it doesn't rain soon, we'll be scrubbing out the tanks and hoping for something beneficial to fall out of the sky (either rain, or dollar bills to pay our water costs)!
I think I should have a serious chat with Mother Nature for you Toni. We seem to have everyone's share of rain over here. Maybe she'll be kind enough to send some your way so that our fields and gardens can, finally, dry out.
We have a slow moving rain cloud over us right now, and a heavy rain advisory for tonight. I'll try to send it your way Toni.
Yep, yep, yep. It was too cold to work in the garden. No peas this year, just too late. Now, it is too wet to work in the garden. Cain't win fer losin'. Wishing I could re-direct some of this water down your way. It will be headed down the Mississippi pretty soon though.
