We have been hit by an artic cold blast...last night it was true -15 F....I woke up at 2:30 and went out to start the car to let the battery charge...could have been worse, they predicted -20 F. TOnight more of the same but as low as true -29 F. I can't sleep when it is like this, always worried about the car starting and if everyone's buses will start. I hate the idea of buses running late and kids waiting out in this kind of cold. Hope everyone is warm where they are! :stew1:

    Burrrrrrrrrrrr....
It sounds like legitimate concerns. It shows what a responsible person you are. An excellent quality to possess; albeit, taxing to you sometimes.
I get the idea that you are a great mom and a trusty and conscientous worker....my kind of person.

Stay warm and be careful on the roads.

Thank you Sjoerd. It is taxing but the weekend is coming up and that will give me plenty of time to catch up on my sleep. And there is no school on Monday so that is one more day to rest.

We are in the middle of that cold snap here too gardenmama. I make sure the kids are bundled up for school and the bus has been arriving early so that no one has to stand out too long. I worry about my dog...she gets cold feet and I find her standing on 2 legs with the other 2 in the air! She still gets her walks but they are a lot shorter and she's OK with that.

This 'freakish' weather the upper states are having is so dangerous. I can't stand the thought of children having to wait in the cold for buses, or for animals being out in the frigid temps. Everyone bundle up good.

It's -14 this morning and we are expecting windchills of -35 and lower. Schools are closed down all through the area, so at least I don't have to worry about my son waiting for his bus. We are going nowhere today. I think I'll bake cookies with the kids and let everybody stay in their jammies all day. Or maybe I'll fill up the jacuzzi and let all 3 kids play swimming pool in our master bath.

Thank goodness it will be back up to the 20's by this weekend. That will feel like a heatwave.
