It's thicker in person, but still, I find this early morning blanket of fog very tranquil.

Hi Ronni,..very tranquil,..i always like those mists as your imagination runs riot,..not being able to see beyond a certain point but odd shapes appear and vanish.

Philip, beyond those woods is a river and also a train track. Because of that, and also because it's city land, it will never be built on which is lovely for us because it lends a very rural feel to our home that we won't ever lose to some contractor barreling in to build a subdivision!

It's particularly soothing in the early morning to revel in the peaceful, fog-blanketed scenery, and then hear a train whistle not too far distant. I don't know about anyone else, but for me there's something particularly soothing and appealing about a train whistle and the sound of the train chugging along its tracks.

I am LOVING where I live now and SO glad we found this house last year! Can you tell? ;)

Nice photos... and a nice looking back yard. Isn't it great to know you'll never have back neighbors!
We have train tracks about two miles from us, but can't really hear their whistles anymore.
One of my favorite memories is being at my grandma's house... snuggled up in bed with a down pillow, homemade quilt, rain falling on the tin roof and hearing the train go by. (and I'd better not forget the mention fabulous aromas wafting from the kitchen). :stew2:

You have lovely views and with the fog they look even more intriguing. I like to see fog through trees and over water - just not while we're out driving.

Our house used to feel peaceful like that but now I wish these stupid townhomes had never been built behind us. I always feel like Im being watched when I go to the backyard >_< Maybe I should plant a bunch of really tall, skinny plants...
Lovely pics, I really like fog :)

I grew up next to train tracks. Just something about them. I can also hear the tugboats.

    Had fog this morning, too.

I also enjoy a foggy day. Like you said it seems so peaceful. I'm not sure why but it just is.
