http://webmail.c.earthlink.net/wam/MsgA ... 1829117190 I hope this link works because I think you will like seeing it! It shows what artists in Galveston Island, Texas did with the many trees that died after Hurricane Ike ran through in 2008. The sculptures they created from the trees are really beautiful.
Daisy--It seems that the link sends me to your e-mail server, WebMail. Of course it asks for me to sign in. I think that what you need to do is either post the pics separately on here or store the individual pics on something like BucketShop and link them to your thread by using the IMG code there. I hope that you can get this sorted. I would like to see the carvings.
I suspected that might be the case. It worked for me but I had a feeling it would be more complicated for others. It's a power point thing, slides and some music, so not easily transferred.... Maybe if I open the slide show first.... I'll try that.
I can view PP shows--but then you may need to send or post it as a whole (the PPS) file to here or from PhotoBucket, etc. I am not sure if this forum website is equipped to show a PPS file. It could well support it. I can't get the PPS file to upload to PhotoBucket, so you will have to post the link to the file that is on a website...then we can open it and see this wonderful show.
Try these links, the second is the Galveston daily newspaper and contains the slideshow .... http://hubpages.com/hub/Galvestons-Dead-Tree-Sculptures http://galvestondailynews.com/blog/3426/
It's sad to hear of all those trees being killed by the hurricane but what a wonderful way to make use of them. :-D Those are real works of art and I'd be proud to have any of them on display here. I love the two herons in particular and think they's look lovely situated beside my garden pond.
I was on Galveston about 3 weeks ago... but wasn't fortunate enough to see any of these. Will definitely keep my eyes out for them in the future. Amazing work!
Those are amazing! My favourite ones are the one with all the birds carved on the limbs and the one with dolphins jumping out of the roots. Lovely.
