I learnt this trick from my budding photographer-daughter a couple of years ago. I took her Canon 550d with a 18-55mm lens. I hope you know what a 'reverse lens' is. Remove the lens, hold it in front in the opposite direction! It is not a classical style - methinks not liked by purists - may be due to its tiny focal point. I tried this for the second or third time, just for fun, last Sunday. Names of the flowers are mentioned on the photo. There are some very interesting possibilities with this technique, although it is very difficult to take, free hand [I tried this method, as is my wont]. It brings up the miniatures into view and we get to see the amazing shapes and colours inside the flower parts. I take pleasure in showing some pictures here. Except cropping and adding text I have not done any processing. If at all I do, I only 'fill light' or 'shadow'. I use Picasa. Of course, they do not compare with the ones taken with a separate 'macro lens' [which I do not have]. Just for fun.
Your skills with your camera have definitely paid off Dinu and have produced some really stunningly beautiful photographs. The nymph looks as though it's posing for you doesn't it? I hope you'll take more shots like these ones and share them with us.
