Just 2 and 1/2 hours away is the Island ski resort, its a good place to go for alpine flowers. These are two of my favorites and also one of the guys that keep you from getting lonely, I do go here each year alone. Bog Bean. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) Deer cabaage. What the blazes, is that bird really a wild one and sitting on your hand? The blooms are so pretty. I especially like the fine "hairs" on the bog bean.
When I go out with my camera I never have company like yours!! How I'd love to have your gift of attracting wildlife to you. I have Bog Beans growing in my pond and think their flowers are really pretty. Deer Cabbage doesn't sound like a very attractive name for such a beautiful flowering plant does it? I'd think I'd make up a new name for it if it was up to me.
Yes the birds are wild and do have a hard time as there is so much snow during the long winter. I was here 3 weeks ago and there was snow and water running everywhere. The average snowfall on the ski hills is 10 metres (33 feet). ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
I have never heard of deer cabbage. I think it's beautiful!!! Your feathered friends are pretty cute too!
