The original post is locked for some reason. I made it last night and thought I would warn anyone that attempts to make it. Make sure you have a 4Qt or larger Crock Pot. After 7 hrs of cooking mine came within 1/2" of the top of the liner. I almost made this in my 3-1/2Qt. but something told me to go next one up. Would have been nice if the author of the recipe had the courtesy to post crockpot size on the recipe.
Where's the recipe you followed? Is there a "Triple Chocolate Mess #1" that I'm missing? Thanks for the heads up though. How was it, by the way?
Its on page 2 near the bottom... http://www.gardenstew.com/about1215.html Unusual. I would say it resembles a souffle. Very melt in your mouth. At 7hrs, it was near the top of my liner. After turning off, it collapsed a couple of inchs and pulled away from the side of the liner. My wife says it should have had cool whip, I'll go for a glass of milk. Used a box of devils food cake, chocolate pudding, 8oz. semi-sweet mini chips, 5 small eggs. definitely a keeper.
I am the original poster of the Triple Chocolate Mess recipe. Crock pot size was not included in the recipe when I received it, if it had been I would have included it too. The recipe is pretty old and possibly pre-dates the availability of different sized crockpots and since there was only one size crockpot at that time, that is what it called for. Thanks for posting about the potential size problem, I will add that to the recipe.
I'm hoping I didn't offend you. I get upset when people post recipes but don't bother listing crockpot size. I have a 3-1/2Qt, 4Qt, 6Qt, and a 8Qt. and there are times I end up dumping everything from one to a larger one just to make sure everything fits. And there are a lot of times I hate doing that because something is usually layered.
