Don has just entered the Gulf of Mexico. Early predictions have it making landfall on Friday somewhere around the Corpus Christi area. Hope it just stays a TS and bring the entire coast some much needed rain... without damaging winds and floods.
    :fingerscrossed:

Please stay safe. I hope Don won't be too destructive.

Fingers crossed that Don doesn't hit too hard. Rain would be welcome for your garden but let it just be that and nothing else.

We have the best chance at rain today and tomorrow that we have had in six weeks.
To paraphrase Eliza Doolittle at Ascot, "C'mon Don, move your arse!"

Am praying also that you all get the much needed rain without the flash flooding that can occur. Funny they haven't mentioned the hurricane Don on national news? Maybe it's not close enough yet to the US. Thankfully we have just had two days of drizzly rain and cooler temps. Makes all my plants very happy. :-D :stew1:

Tooty.... it's not a hurricane, just a Tropical Storm. There's still a chance that it will turn into a small hurricane, but not likely.

I hope it manages to bring all of Texas a lot of needed rain, and no destruction too. Allegedly, we are also to get some rain up here in Missouri over the weekend. I hope so! I could run my well dry watering and still not be enough. If we could just get a good sized low pressure parked over the gulf for a week or two, that would be a huge help. It can skip up in Iowa though.

Well... from the latest news reports, it's steering a bit more to the south. No signs of Don around here. Skies are clear. But tomorrow afternoon/evening will be our best chance of getting some rain from him.
I do believe this is the first time the entire coastline of Texas is wishing they get the storm! Usually the other way around! :-D
Okay Don... bring rain, but no destruction! Please.

Rain, rain is good, wind, not so good. Lets hope the storm just produces a lot of rain. Actually the pattern looks good for producing rain with a northerly hook at the end. Better stock up on rain barrels. :)

Jerry... I used up the water out of the barrel the other day. We had 1/4 inch of rain today, so there's a bit of water in there.
I did buy the tub for the upcoming fountain. I have to remember to turn it right-side-up so it can catch any of that wet stuff from the sky!

Well once again the 2 High Pressure Systems that have been sitting on top of Texas for the last 6+ months have squashed any chances of rain. Tropical Storm Don fell apart as it hit land at the southern tip of Texas and became nothing more than a 30 mph wind bag with no rain.

Everyone is calling it Disheartening Don! It's amazing that Corpus Christi didn't get any measurable rain out of it!
Something caused rain in our area... I got slightly under and inch yesterday. Go figure!
