I just bought 6 already to be planted Tulips for my wife for V-Day. On the little info card it says to plant in bright sunlight but not in direct sun. It also says can be planted straight into your garden. Now I'm a little confused on where to plant them. That card is not making sense to me. Does someone have info on these guys...Where to plant, How many times a year they bloom and when? Thanks

My Tulips only bloom once a year newgrow, usually in late April or early May. I have mine in full sun or part shade.

Tuplip's grow well in zones 3-8...they need a cold period. In warmer zones treat as annuals and plant pre-cooled bulbs in late fall or early winter.

The bulbs have been pre chilled (14 to 16 weeks) so they are ready to force in a pot where the bulbs are buried about one half depth from the surface. They need bright light to produce, but direct sun will harm the bulbs and tender growth.

Bulbs buried outside are about 6" under the ground and away from the suns damaging rays.

Either way the will bloom for you this spring.

Planted in the ground now and they are good to go

In a pot, you will have to transplant them this spring or after blooming to have them back for next year that is if you are i a cool zone as mentioned 3-8

I did plant them and they are not doing as well as they were inside. But I'm not to worried because I believe I am in zone 10 so they wont live here anyway. They already are big and bloomed here one of them is...
