I was digging in the dirt this afternoon and had to take a break. I was sitting on the porch with dr and told him I thought there was something pink on the tulip tree. Here are some early pictures.
This one was taken from the corner of the porch.

This is from the back of the bloom

This is a branch with one bloom and lots of buds just coming out.

This one is a bud from a sucker shoot down by the ground.

The blooms are so pretty.I am afraid the freeze tonight will kill all of our blooms on the pear, peach, plum and redbud trees.

Beeeeeee-utiful, just such a shame they are so tender and get turned to moosh if there is a frost. I would love a magnolia but just don't have the room, so i will adore yours instead. :)

Why don't you try a magnolia (stellata) Emma. We have one in our front garden which has loads of buds on so, frost permitting, we will have a good show this year, will post a pic if we do. They can be kept quite small as shrubs.
