With all the rain, the majority of my plants have stopped blooming. No sun for a month will do that to them I guess. Because of the heat and humidity now I can't get out there to do much for the next at least 6 weeks, but I did wander around watering pots and checking on things.....boy will I have my work cut out for me when fall weather gets here.

I did find that the Turks Cap is blooming. It was one that I bought in late Sept last year, looked pretty scraggly having been sitting in the garden center for months. I wasn't sure it would come back but it is about a 3'x3' plant now and blooming.

The biggest surprise of all was the Waterlily blooming. I bought the WaterlLily and a Water Iris at a pet store 3 years ago....they also sell fish and supplies for outdoor ponds. They have both lived thru hot summers and last years freezes just fine. Neither had bloomed so I figured the greenery looked good anyway. This morning I found a Lily is full bloom.
I don't have a pond, just some containers that I use for my water plants. I have another Lily and a Cattail in a large glass bowl but they aren't blooming yet.

Gorgeous water lily Toni. Have you ever done a comparison between rainfall last year and for the same period this year? I'd imagine there would be a HUGE difference?

One of the best things about my favorite TV station weather people is that they keep great records online of every comparison you can think of.
    Our rainfall for Jan-Jun 2005 was 13.17 inches (34cm)
    Jan-Jun 2006 was 14.6 inches (37cm)
    Jan-Jun 2007 was 32.08 inches (82cm)

We got more rain in the first 6 months of this year than in all of last year and almost double what we got for 2005.
