This is where we stayed in Tuscany. The villa was on a lake. Very remote. The ducks even had their own duck houses (under the willow tree on the lake- if you squint maybe you can see them). The last picture is when I came back to Kuwait-a dust storm. We went from cool, fall weather in Italy back to heat and dust in Kuwait.
The pictures of Tuscany are beautiful, that's the only part of Italy I would like to visit. I wouldn't want to leave that villa for our hot weather either. Gee, the dust storms in Kuwait look just like the ones in west Texas. We don't get many in my part of the state but have on occassion when the wind is really kicking up from the west for a few days.
What a lovely vacation spot, so serene. Tuscany must have beautiful landscape. There are some places you wish you'd never have to leave. Gardengater
Very beautiful spot you had there. So relaxing looking. I think i really need to put Italy on one of our vacations. The dust storm even looks kind of pretty with all the red and orange to it.

Thanks for the lovely words, everyone. It was super preaceful there. Our neighbors were wild boar, ducks, birds,squirrels and scorpions. I could have done without the scorpions. One was even over T's head, scared me to death. The wild boars should have known better than to come around- one of my favorite Tuscany dishes is pasta with wild boar sauce. Or maybe they did know that and they were coming around to threaten me. Anyway, it was a little more remote than we thought it would be. We were told it was "secluded" but it was actually 4 km up and down a dirt mountain road. I don't know how anyone does that in winter! That entire area is breathtakingly beautiful. The villa sat on an oil producing estate, you can see some of the trees in the pictures. There were a lot of vineyards and olive groves in the area but the rest was forest. Absolutely lovely.
Very beautiful and relaed pictures. After seeing that scorpion, I'm thankful to be in Michigan (take no offense) but the most we might have is spiders and garden snakes-I'll deal with them, More then I could a scorpion. Love the picts, thanks for sharing.
Hi Petunia. I know there are scorpions here in Kuwait but thankfully, they are not interested in my gardens. I actually saw two in Italy- one on the wall outside that is pictured above. (I said to T "What is that above your head?". I never saw the man move so fast!) And one in one of the bedrooms. Needless to say, I checked my shoes very carefully every morning before I put them on. I am not an insect fan but I don't know which are the "bad" ones here so I usually ask them politely to move on to somewhere else. I have seen the largest locusts I have ever seen in my life here. I usually run back into the house and wait for them to move on. Luckily, they are not interested in anything I grow. I prefer my wildlife outside and if anything gets in, I trap it and carry it outside (squealing like a small child usually) and set it free. I am the biggest baby when it comes to bugs!
