I stopped by my favorite big box store for some mulch. And of course I have to walk pass the markdown racks. For less than $4.00 I acquired 3 plants. The first is a Blue Butterfly Bush (Buddleia Nanho Blue) http://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/9001844 I've been wanting one and now that I have the space I couldn't pass it up. The other was one I didn't have a clue about but loved the little flowers... so I picked up two of them. Cherry Brandy Gaura (aka Butterfly Gaura) This is close as I could find in the Plants Database http://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/27653 I've already planted the Buddleia... but do you think it's safe to go ahead and plant the Gaura down here in zone 9A? We're still having very warm temps (from mid50s to mid80s) and not expecting to see anything close to freezing for at least a month.
Go ahead and get it in the ground, like any other summer blooming perennial it needs to gets it's roots established before frost hits. And be sure it's in the place it will stay, with a taproot it will not transplant later with much success.
