I made a cheap two sided feeder for the bird. Feeding the birds is not as cheap as it was and getting free or 5 cents suet from the grocery stores helps with the cost. Although this shows one of the bought suet blocks cut in half, the chunks of suet can be used. If interested in making this just mention it in a post here.

I think my crows/black birds would carry the whole thing off. They empty my yard of suet so fast and I need a top on it, they seem to be very smart birds...

I keep my feeders hanging on pulleys some 16 feet high. That keeps the bears from munching on them.

Kildale-that is a super design. Yes years ago it was cheaper feeding the birds suet. The meat markets would give you the fat just to get rid of it. Then they found out the we bird folks would pay money for it. I now pay up to 2.00 dollars a pound.

Sherry my crows would do the same. I have made a suet feeder that the crows can not get at the suet. It is not real pretty. But it does the job.

Barb- Bears! I am soooooo glad we do not have them here.
