Veterans Day is this Sunday November 11 th. If you know a Veteran, please thank him or her for their service. A lot of restraunts are offering Vets a free meal. Golden Corral is one of them and a lot of service organazations here are also offering free meals. Both Lowes and Home Depot offer a 10% decount for military people and veterans all year around. All you have to do is ask for it and show proof that you are a Vet.

It's good to know that many companies are thinking of the Veterens. It's a small but welcome, reward for everything they have done for their country and well deserved. Let's hope more join them in offering help.

I know this is limited to Texas gardeners but there is a Texas based garden center chain called Calloway's in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and Cornelius in the Houston area, that will be donating 10% of what you spend there on Sunday the 11th to the http://www.semperfifund.org/

I have never really needed an excuse to go plant shopping but this is a very good reason to buy plants this Sunday.!!

    THANK YOU CAPT!

I appreciate your service to our country. Three of my brothers and my dad served in the forces. Not one of them ever mentions anything about it. I don't think any of them (my brothers) really enjoyed any part of it. I think they are all such homebodies they were too homesick to embrace being away. They all came back home (thank God) and one still lives at home with mom and dad and the other two live within 1/2hr drive. My other brother didn't serve, but I don't think they would have accepted him due to a childhood accident that left him with major reconstruction and mild brain trauma.
