Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's back to work I go. My, those 8 days passed so quickly. It was nice being able to stay home everyday and not having to go to work. But all good things must come to an end.
Not to worry Sharon, just think of all the things you achieved in your time off, throwing your Mom a wonderful party she will never forget, reaching 500 posts on Stew and earning the title "Daylily Diva"
Congratulations on reaching the 500 post mark That first day of going back to work is always a pain after having a long time off. Good luck and maybe try to talk your boss into some more vacation time
Just think of all the future vacations you have to look forward to and how much sweeter they will be. (((cb))) Best of luck in getting back into the routine!
I son't get vacations anymore since I have retired. Sometimes I miss the structure of work. I mean working and getting a holiday or vacation occasionally, but not enough to go back to work.
getting back to work is hard after a good vacation...we just got back as well from our trip. NC & SC... was nice. will post pics... but we got back on friday which was good.. we had the weekend to recoup before getting back to the daily grind.. makes it alot easier to adjust. Hope you had fun though!
When we lived in Wisconsin and both worked we did our vacations by train. It gave the boys and us time to unwind and be rested when we go there. The trip home was to unwind and be ready to go back to work. My parents lived here in Arizona and DR's family lived in upstate New York so it was east one year and west the next. We saw a lot of country. We tried different routes for different vacations. Dooley
I've always wanted to try a train trip (prob. to Great Falls or Seattle). I think Amtrak comes as far north as Milwaukee now, and maybe even Appleton, so that would be convenient. Did you get a sleeper cabin or go coach?
We have done it both ways. Sleepers are more expensive now, but meals come with it. Last I heard though, meals weren't much. More like airline food now. Meals in the diner used to be a highlight of the trip. The boys really liked eating in the diner. Mostly they fly now, but we don't fly. We went to Milwaukee two summers ago and our son picked us up. It goes on to Minneapolis and then across to Seattle. Dooley
A coworker took the Amtrak east once. Train broke down in central Pennsylvania at nite in sweltering heat. No power at all, so no lights even. Lots of spooky and sweaty folks on that train. I'd make the best of it tho - I'm sure I could find the bar car in the dark with little difficulty.
