Hi - hope this is okay but I thought keen gardeners might be interested in a competition that's been launched by a charity called United Response at http://www.unitedresponse.org.uk/appeal

They're hunting for the most "imaginative gardens" around the country - there will be ten regional winners of £50 gardening vouchers each, with an overall prize of £100 plus priceless consultancy from Chelsea Flower Show gold medallist Paul Cooper.

"Imaginative gardens could simply mean using creativity to turn a small space into a floral oasis. Or it could mean a quirky theme, like turning a shed into a Roman theatre or populating your garden with a gnome army," the appeal says.

The competition is trying to raise awareness of sensory gardens for people with learning disabilities , as well as raise funds.

The campaign hopes to create ten gardens, located in Middlesex, Hertfordshire, Gwent, Bristol, Wiltshire, York, Ripon, Tyne and Wear, Merseyside and Nottinghamshire.

    What a great idea!

Sounds like a great excuse to spend more time in the gardens!
