There's a pecan tree in the middle of my garden area and it's been needing some attention.
A co-worker gave me some Coral Bells (that need shade) and this was going to be the only place for them. I didn't really change much, just cleared out some grass. Laid down newspaper. And covered with mulch. Let's go for a walk around the tree, shall we?
In the front is the garden tool/seat that is home to some Louisiana Black Iris. The blue bucket is one of the dog's water bowls.
Next to that is a "slice" of Cypress that Hubby originally got to make a table, but for some reason he decided against it, so I stole it. The old ice cream maker with Tulips sits above it.

And then there is one of the recently planted Coral Bells, then the big pot of Purple Shamrock/Oxalis.

Then the other Coral Bell. That takes us to the "tipsy pots" full of Salvia (except for the wild pink Shamrock).

And then back around to the front.

Hope that journey didn't tire you out! :-D

Jerry.... thanks for those kind words.

Deanna... I just love the tipsy pots. I think the top one is tipping a little too much, but I'm scared to try to fix it. Maybe next year!

Thanks DeepWoods. I found the "how to" online somewhere. Just do an internet search... I'm sure you'll find the info. It's easy really. Put some rebar in the ground and then place your pots and then fill with pretty flowers! We had a "tipsy" challenge last year and several members made some in a variety of forms.

And no one caught on to my little subtle pun in my closing line "Hope that journey didn't tire you out!" (See the old tire pump leaning against the tree?) :D

That is a nifty way to bring life to the base of your tree and it looks great too. I love the tipsy pots and the black iris. I have been wanting to try tipsy pots for a while now, but this year I think I might try them.
