I just bought a house with a very extensive garden, and I know most of the plants. There are just a few left that I'm not sure of. There is one flower in particular... white, pink, or light purple colored flowers 4 petals per flower, with long stamens of the same color grow 1.5-2.5' tall stem a spike of flowers at the top of the stem compound leaves with 7 leaflets, leaflet edges are really finely toothed or smooth leaves whirl around the stem the stem has really small spines/hairs along the length when you look at the flower from far away, it looks like a little puffball at the top of a long skinny stem. they apparently reseed themselves, because i have them everywhere. does anyone have a clue. i've tried all kinds of online ID guides. i tried to take a pictures, but my camera is dead
It's really quite difficult to ID a plant without a piccie although your description is very detailed. Could you possibly borrow a camera to take photographs of the plants you need to find out the names of? I hope some of the other members will be able to help you as they may recognise the plant you've described.
unknown pink flowers --CLEOME After I posted the unknown pink flowers topic, i did one last internet search and found out that they are Cleome (spider flower). after reading about them, their location in the garden and growin habits all made sense! thanks for the warm welcome!
Welcome keborda to our stew.I have them all over the place.I do love this plant but next year I will be spreading them out.I didn't realize they get so big.
