I really have absolutely no explanation for this at all. I mean, seriously, how could this happen? As I am situated on the southernmost part of this megacity (right on the coast), in the southernmost city of Pakistan, of the southernmost province - So not a dairy farm for at least a 100 miles! Yet here they are, walking in this posh urban residential area, without a care in the world... Perhaps they came here for some shopping - Just like I went to their homeland about 10 days ago (see link below)... http://www.gardenstew.com/about32200.html Honestly, I have no explanation for this at all... Save yourself! Barricade all doors and windows! Or go outside and face danger! But do something, and quick! Because the cow now walks amongst us... However, another possibility is that the South is finally going to change! http://playit.pk/watch?v=9RTPdAAdw30
S-H, I have never noticed Holsteins in any pictures from your part of the world...Do you have many? I was amazed to see that. What kind of cows do you mostly have there? I am not familiar with most of them to identify what type of cow they are.
Well, our own indigenous cow is a little like the Middle Eastern and African type. But over here (as these animals hardly ever experience any drought) - They have become very fat, when compared to it's cuisines in Africa... And we also have our own water buffalos too. However, only bovines that can handle extreme hot weather do well here. Which is why we often exchange bull calves with Australia. As ours do very well there, just as theirs do very nicely here. But north American cows give a very high yield of milk, so they too are sometimes imported for cross breeding. Dutch cows of course are the best in the world (when it comes to meat and milk production) - But they just can't handle our climate...
I too have no idea how they ended up so far South in the city... Perhaps they came to Karachi's Clifton area for some shopping, (just like all other Pakistani ladies who end up here, shopping till they drop)... Wow SH-free fertilizer delivery! I too think those photo's are so beautiful of Karachi at night. It is neat to see all the vendors set up along the river walk way. Thanks for sharing them.
That's not a river, it's actually our harbor, (the less active shallow area of it, where small fishing boats are docked). You can see the main (deeper and bigger) area of the harbor in the background, with the tall container lifting cranes. http://playit.pk/watch?v=Ic4Xqik5ysw As for the cows, well, now that I think about it - They were (totally on their own) following the correct traffic rules... Believe it or not, our horses, donkeys, camels, cattle, and even sheep - Are trained at a very early age to walk in accordance with traffic rules. For example, in the early 1950s their was talk of converting to the American left hand drive system - We of course had inherited the UK right hand drive system. But since there was talk of importing American automobiles, it was suggested that we change the traffic system. However farmers protested, because ever since almost the last 200 years - Everybody was moving on the road in the right hand drive way. And was actually a very common practice for farmers to load up their carts in the evening. And let the animal take it on the road (to the farmers market). So the animal by instinct knew how to navigate the streets. The farmer himself would no doubt be in control of everything. But usually they would be sleeping, while the animal did it's job during the night. Thus by first light they would arrive at the farmers market to sell their product. So had they changed the traffic system, then there would have been 1000s upon 1000s of accidents on the road (as the animal would still be traveling on the road according to the UK system). Thus we still are traveling by right hand drive system in all of Pakistan. Just see the pictures of the cows again - And you'll notice that not a single on of them is facing the wrong way. All are moving exactly as they should, hence no traffic jams!
