Here in central Ohio, July and August are usually hot, humid and dry. But not this July. We are getting record rainfalls. I guess we are getting all the rain that the west coast isn't getting. We get all of these popup storms. And the amounts of rain vary widely. I know one place the other day only got 1/4 inch of rain and another community 5 miles away got over 3 inches! No summer brownout for my yard so far this year!
It's amazing how some areas are getting tons of rain while others are not. The global weather system seems to have gone a little bit strange over the last decade. Maybe our rain dances have been mis-choreographed
Ya think Frank ,maybe you could tweek it a might please .We have gotten a little rain two days but nothing to really brag about.I'm proud of the little showers we got .We could use lots more.
We are usually wet during the spring and early summer, and have a drought this time of the year. This year it was opposite. I haven't had to water in a while, except the nursery, we have the sprinkler on it now, and the containers. I'm not complaining.
I can't say that I miss any of the rain that's dumping on you Capt Kirk The water bill is gonna be a little bigger though, but I think it's a fair trade for all this sunshine.
I never thought I'd be saying this but please send some of that rain my way CK. This has got to be the hottest summer for years with temperatures reaching an all time high of 35 degrees. Much too hot and very humid into the bargain.
We have been getting small rains .3 or .4 inches at a time. We still have to water everything because it doesn't go deep enough.
I hadn't realized the amount of rain we had been getting until I looked out at the lawn. I mowed Thursday of last week, Tuesday of this week and again tonight (friday). Usually by this time of the summer, we are mowing only the tall weeds.
We'r thankfully back to 'normal' here - 70s and occasional clouds fluffing by. No rain yet, but we've had some promisingly grey ones go by today, so I'm hopeful. I'm just grateful that the horrid heat is finally breaking up for most folks - give me rain anyday over that.
