Well, every day she is getting a little stronger. This whole illness really took it's toll on her physically, mentally and emotionally. She has been discharged from hospital and is now staying with me for a week for plenty of TLC. The children are on Easter hols from school so I am around which works perfectly. She is sleeping a lot and is terribly weak, only eating very small meals but at least she is eating, and drinking plenty of water. She has a bag full of medication so she rattles when she walks!! She has to go back to the hospital in about 2 weeks to have a camera put down her throat and into her stomach to see if there is any permanent damage and any more ulcers. The antibiotics killed the horrid infection so fingers crossed her pancreas is now back to normal. Again, this will all be checked when she goes back in a couple of weeks. It is such a relief to have her home as you can imagine, and I would once again like to thank you all for all the love and support you have shown. Fanks chums!
I'm so pleased your mum is staying with you EJ as I know she'll get all the love and attention she needs. Let's hope when she goes back to the hospital that everything is fine and that there's no sign of any damage and that her pancreas is back to full working order.
Glad to hear she is on the mend, I know how worried you have been. If she is like my Mom, she is too fiesty to let this keep her down for long.
Ah EJ, it is so good to learn that your mum is better, and out of the hospital even. She's in just the right place for a little R&R. Bless 'er. I hope that the scope turns out ok when she returns. Is she continuing to take oral antibiotics now that the IV has been removed? Fingers crossed for this very nice lady.
Thanks for the update. I'm so very glad she is feeling somewhat better if not yet well. It's good that she can be with you for the children's holidays. I'm sure she enjoys them even for short periods of time when she's feeling up to par. dooley
So glad she is feeling better. I know she will get the best of care staying with you. That was such a scare for both of you and hoping for the best when she goes back for the camera scope.
That is positive news. Glad to hear your mom is on the mend. Being amongst those that one love and care for will speed up recovery.
Great to hear your mums on the mend and at your home where she will be very well cared for. Thanks for the update EJ.
Good news indeed! I hope she'll heal quickly under your loving, strict regime. Give her a big get-well-hug from us, won't you?
