For any newcomers reading this... two of my brothers left about 1.5 years ago on a 'round the world trip on their sail boats. They finally had a chance to update their blogs with a couple of stories and a few photos. They have been in Hawaii since Thanksgiving fixing the boats, taking care of business, seeing a doctor and dentist... all that "civilization" kinda stuff. They are leaving today to return to the French Polynesian islands... a 30 day non-stop sail. After a few weeks there they plan to head westward hoping to make it to New Zealand by Christmas. What a view! ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) An old shipwreck they visited. Wonderful photos, and they are really having the adventure of a lifetime! However, I wonder about two guys in sailboats visiting a shipwreck. Seems rather . . .
Oh boy sand, sea and sunshine!! I love their photographs and I have a strange feeling they're enjoying their trip to the full. I hope they'll send plenty of photographs when they reach New Zealand as my youngest lad is just back from there. It's somewhere I would love to visit but I doubt I ever will. Thanks for sharing their pictures with us.
I always look for them on line and see where they are. What beautiful photos. I always love to see the topic with info about them. Cherylad, you're a lucky woman to have such colorful brothers.
Looks like they plan to take 3-4 years to circumnavigate the world. Sir Frances Drake and Magellan all over again. Hmmm… maybe they should avoid the Philippines. The adventure of 2 lifetimes and we have a ringside seat. Jerry
Cayuga Morning you took the words right out of my mouth ... "WOW!!! WHAT A LIFE!!!" Incidentally are they heading my way?
Cayuga... I couldn't agree more! They've worked hard for it and deserve to have all the fun they can stand. Jane... I was thinking about that also... kinda tempting fate, huh? Eileen... I hope they'll share more photos soon... it's been too long in-between updates. But can't blame them. Not sure I'd be spending too much time playing on the computer when I could be playing in paradise. Toni... yep, it doesn't seem like that long ago. But then other times, it seems like years since they've been gone. Can you tell I'm missing "The Dragon" being here giving me trouble? Barb... Colorful is a good way to describe those two! My other two brothers are just as fun, but a little more "grounded". Jerry... their estimated time was 7 years. They're not in any hurry. KK... not sure if they will make it over there. They have long-term plans, but things change constantly. After looking through their photos this morning, I was in a tropical mood. I thought it would be a good time to slice the pineapple I bought last week. I also needed to get it "started" since winter killed the one I had growing. So, I slice the pineapple. Get it's top in some soil to set root. Then it hit me, I have some Pina Colada Mix and a bottle of rum in the cabinet. So I got out the blender and sent them a bon voyage toast from the most tropical place I could find here at home. Bon Voyage ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden )
Again--great foto's from out to sea. I thought that Piña colada foto cool...and thoughtful . I know that your bros will appreciate this.
