Well, for those who have been following...she is still in hospital and is having good days and bad days. At the moment her salt levels are seriously low which is causing her to have lots of funny turns, plus her glucose is through the roof so they are trying to sort that out. Her hip problem, now isn't really a problem at all, it seems the more tests they do, the more things they are finding wrong. Oh well, she is in the best place, and if they can get everything sorted then she will come home a fitter old bird. Being stubborn, she still doesn't want any of the help that has been offered, but I think her daughter will have put a lot of things in place before she gets home. So, fingers crossed, slowely but surely, she is mending. Thanks for all of your kind words and wishes.

Ups. Sounds like she sort of needed the hospital stay, for all sorts of ailments. Poor thing. Best wishes for her recovery.

My grandmother used to say she wouldn't be half as sick as she was if she had just stayed away from Doctors and hospitals. Everytime she went they found something else wrong, just like your Nan. ;)

Hopefully they can get all the 'levels' balanced soon so she can go home and be comfy.

It seems being in hospital is often so hard on older people... One thing seems to trigger off other things somehow. At least her hip is mending while they are figuring out all the other stuff. Sure hope she makes good progress... continued healing vibes, EJ.

Hoping she continues to improve with her hip. And yes, unfortunatley, the more tests they run, the more they find wrong with a person. Guess that is called, being a good doctor! Continues vibes for her (and her daughter)!

Your poor nan must be getting very frustrated by all these new things they are finding wrong with her. I hope she 'hangs in there' though until everything is sorted out so that she can get home and be a far fitter and healthier woman than when she went into hospital.

Spoke to my cousin tonight who had popped in to visit her. It seems that with Christmas, the physios hadn't been in, so she hasn't been walking very much, so of course, she is very stiff. It seems if they can get her mobile, and walking a certain distance, they will be keen to send her home, however, it still looks as though she will be in for at least another week. Thanks for thinking of her.

Thanks for the update, EJ. I hope that she will be out sooner rather than later.
It is a bit irritating that no one is walking her.
