They have some eggs inside the bird house by the front door...The one bird sits on our street sign patiently waiting for his mate..it is so sweet ....We call the female Wassy and the male Barrow...you can see why. I was just thinking -- I wonder what Sherry has seen through the bird cam lately! And there was your post. What a pretty bird -- they have a beautiful new house too. They look very happy.
Thanks for the update Sherry. I wonder when the eggs will hatch? I'm waiting patiently to see the first signs of babies in the nest!!
He is the cutest bird.He is just so caring about his mate.I think your birdhouse is so pretty and right where you can watch them.
glendann...that is why I put it in the front flower bed so I could sit in a chair inside and watch them and keep them safe from the other predators...I have to check to see how long it takes to sit on the eggs, I want to say close to 2 weeks and it has been a least one for sure that I noticed..
They're such elegant little birds. I really like swallows. You're a lucky girl to have them so close, Sherry.
I have Tree Swallow's in the backyard too. They seemed to be moving into the new birdhouse, but now I'm not so sure. They seem to have abandoned the partially built nest in there
They're so much fun to watch. We have lots around here too, which is a good thing because they eat A LOT of bugs!
Thanks for the update, Sherry. You took some very fgood fotos there. I wonder why the developers there names the streets after Alaskan towns. hahaha. It caught my eye because I lived in Wasilla once. The setting was dramatic. Anyway, those swallow pics are delightful to see.
I think my swallows gave up to :'( I haven't seen any activity since Saturday. Yours are very elegant looking. Great photos!!
Sjoerd...this subdivision is called the Alaskan subdivision..A man that had been to Alaska owned all of this property...and he made some silly things that we shouldn't do in the area...Hopefully they will all end soon...another street is Talketeena. Have you heard of that before?
