The USDA Hardiness zones have changed. Mine went from 8a to 8b. I think, 20 years ago I was 7b. Still too cold here for date palms and bananas LOL. Maybe in 5 years? Or cacti... I think that explains my improving fig crops and even the chili peppers. Maybe okra would have a chance too. https://www.npr.org/2023/11/17/1213...eners-arent-surprised-as-usda-updates-key-map I image similar has happened in Canada and Europe too. It is certainly interesting how things are changing. I suspecting that I will be able to have a better corn crop now based on the last two years. I still have to cheat with warming the soil, planting seeds in holes in clear plastic, and starting others early...but it used to be almost impossible. The postal code maps make be a bit crazy because my post office is an hour away, but the maps that come with them give nice guidelines. I'll try to find a local one I saw a couple months ago and share it. It was all about micro climates - it was pretty cool. I'll do my best to look for it.
The Canadian map doesn't seem to have changed at all, at least where I live. But it did change a few years back when we went from 5a to 5b.
