This is our national flower. I read that Singapore is the only nation to have a hybrid as its national flower. A hybrid between Vanda hookeriana and Vanda teres is hardy and free flowering. It is a robust, sun loving plant with slender stems. The first director of the Singapore Botanic Gardens named it after Agnes Joaquim. The plant was the results of a cross made by Miss Joaquim. Out of curiosity, do you have this hybrid in your country?

Gorgeous orchid! We can buy Vanda orchids here, I've seen them in the shops now and then. They are very expensive though, and the word is that they're difficult to grow without a greenhouse.

I do not have any Vandaceous orhids. Only Cymbidium, some Ansellia and Dendrobium and Disa.
