We spent all day yesterday working like crazy in the veggie garden and to a lesser degree in the flower garden, preparing the ground and planting things... there wasn't nearly enough time in the day to do everything that I wanted to. First it was the carrot beds that were made ready and subsequently planted with two different types of carrots. (We are trying new ones this year). The new strawberry bed is made ready. the ground arounf the plants was scratched loose, then cow manure pellets were applied, the compost and the whole lot was then scratched-in again. ...I know, I had not yet schoffeled the paths yet when I took the piccy. Toms and a neighbour lady's clematis plants inside the greenhouse. My bride planted some early lettuces out of the way of the toms that will be planted soon. It's looking fairly tidy now, but once all the toms are planted and start growing, that will change. heh heh Last but not least the first flower garden plot has been cleaned. Pinks and reds will go in this one. Some are already in place. You can't believbe how long it took me to get this small plot cleaned. There were two bucket loads of weeds, forget-me-nots and ground elder removed!
It looks great to me. I would love to have a greenhouse. I spent quite hours washing dust off my plants and beds outside yesterday only to have yet another dust storm come in today. I am so sick of the dust storms. (In every way- I get terrible migraines from being out during one.)I am looking forward to seeing more pictures of your gardens.
It looks good to me Sjoerd,, more than I have done,,,lol. but then we have 5 inches or 12 cm of ice yet. I been breaking it up to help mother nature along. Your plots look great, and to me its a good start. Your toms are doing wonderful it looks like,,, and I planted some lettuce too, and radishs but just for in the house yet. Not outside. Well done, and lots of hard work is very noticable.
You may not have achieved everything you wanted to Sjoerd but you've certainly made a lot of progress. The lottie is looking great but that greenhouse is way to tidy for my liking!!!
chuckle... Droopy 'n Eileen... TOO tidy indeed! You should see left, right and behind where the camera was pointing.... O.M.G! You'd sing a different tune if you scould see that! Honestly you guys!
We've seen your garden from last year Sjoerd. I just loved those walkways through it. I'm lucky to have 1 walkway through mine. Look at your toms, oh my goodness, mine are only half that size. We're still waiting for the ground to warm up just a little more before putting in anything. Sure would be nice if the greenhouse would warm up in the meantime too. I've runned out of room in the house. Anywways, everything is looking good there.
Looking good Sjoerd! I also remember your garden pictures from last year, everything was so neat and tidy! I can't get into my veggie garden until it dries out a bit more.
Everything looks so ready for the growing to begin. So organized and neat....now turn the camera to the "left, right and behind" so we can see what it really looks like in there. Your blue rain barrel looks just like my blue rain barrel.
Your allotment looks great! I sowed some carrots at the weekend - early nantes and red cored. It is great when things start getting organised on the plot. I love all of your watering cans in a row, I have 2 on the plot and 4 at home, but I need MORE!! I moved my strawbs last autumn, wondering if I will get a crop this year.....
Everything you have got done is so neat .Your garden is really coming along good.It takes a lots of work but its well worth it.
You are much neater than I am. I, too, only take pictures from certain angles. I'm not planting much until I come back from Glenda's. It's too much to expect someone to water it when we have been so dry it would take an hour each day probably. I'm wondering if using all that water is worth it. Except for the vegetables, of course. dooley
Wowee!! Beautiful job!!! I love it all!! Nothin wrong with a little tidy-ness as long as your still gettin your hands dirty! (and pants and knees etc) LOL.
