I had a customer stop and ask me if I knew what this plant was last week and she gave it to me, too. I have never seen it and as it smells like camphor I am sure I would have remembered it. Do you have any ideas?

I know I've seen this plant before and, if I remember correctly it's called simply Camphor Plant or Camphor Basil.

Well, Thank you so much Eileen and Barb. I have never seen this plant and had no idea what it was, but camphor is what it smells like for sure. Now, can you use it for anything or is it purely ornamental?

Wikipedia says "Camphor Basil is an annual shrub reaching about five feet tall in a season.
It becomes woody with camphor-scented leaves that can be used in sachets to protect woolens and as a tea for stomach aches."
