I went out and cut my last batch of mums after getting ready for Sandy to slam into us. At least I can enjoy them in the house for they would have been blown away in a few hours.

That's all for the flower gardens for this year, folks.....

Barb, enjoy your mums, and start planning for next year. There will be a next year, Sandy notwithstanding.
Stay safe (I know you will have plenty to eat, since I remember the photos of your pantry overflowing with home-canned goodies!).

Do let us know how you are faring Barb. I'm keeping a check on the news to see just what Sandy is doing. Fingers and everything else tightly crossed for everyone in her path.

Thanks. Just finished my final job for the day. We fed the chickens. Now all we have to do is collect eggs again just before dark and hope by the morning that we have chicken pens still standing.

The wind still howls, gusts to 60 mph and the rain is pelting the windows but the power is still on. Every once and awhile something goes 'thump' on the roof, tomorrow's daylight should provide an interesting view. I left the bird feeders up so the birds, if they could fly sideways, could still have a meal. Some did brave the storm to eat their evening meal. The squirrels stayed home.

We lost our electricity for three hours.

We were eating our dinner when we lost power. At least our dinner was fully cooked.

I see donm lost his power for 3 hours and then must have gotten it back. Wow that's a switch. I don't expect to get mine back for days.

He is only 60 or 80 minutes west of my.

Turns out that almost all of our roads are closed because of branches, trees and wires down. What a mess we have around here. My hubbies work will be closed for 2 days because they had no electric. Whole towns are out.If you went to stay with someone out of town like my neighbor you are not getting home for a few days. I am sure the major roads will be cleared in a day or two.

Guess I was lucky to have lost my electric for only 2 hours.

Gas lines over 2 miles long for the stations that have a generator. Just can't understand why I have electric. LOL

Things are getting nasty out there for the stations are turning away people with NJ plates on their cars and only giving to Pa. people.

Still waiting to hear that everyone here is safe after Sandy has dealt her worst. I'm glad you are fine Barb and I really hope that things calm down quickly now.
