Warmest year ever

    This in in the Click2 news this morning out of Houston,Tx.
    It doesn't sound very good.

    2007 Predicted To Be Warmest Year Ever
    A resurgent El Nino and persistently high levels of greenhouse gases are likely
    to make 2007 the world's hottest year ever recorded.

    Oh goody, that means there is a high likelihood of more hurricanes. We better leave Southern Louisiana soon.

    El Nino will also give us more rain this year.

    When they are talking about the hottest year ever recorded they are not talking about daily temps per se. They average the temperatures for each month, then use those monthly averages to get the yearly average temp.

    Here in north Texas, the average temperature for last year was 80.4 and that makes 2006 the hottest (or actually warmest since 80 is really not a hot temp) year we have had since they started keeping records.

    I wouldn't be surprised if they were 100% correct. Seems like everywhere on Earth is warming up. Hmmm.

    Well I really don't like an excess of heat BUT just think of all the tropical plants I could grow in the garden!!!! :p
