We took a 1 day trip to tippy dam. Lets start out with the long walk down:

people were fishing for salmon there. salmon are just starting to come into the manistee river.
While there I took several picts of differant falls in the area.

I had to climb a small hill to get these next picts.

This trip was so much fun. I just love watching waterfalls coming out of rocks.
Next month when the salmon do come in at the weir (catching point) we're going to go watch them trap salmon, to keep the eggs, to raise them, to be able to let them go again to fill our rivers with more fish.
Hope you enjoyed the trip-I can't wait to go back.

Hey, I know where the Manistee River is! Used to go fishing up by Alpena as a kid. Was up there last about 6 or 8 years ago. Beautiful country. If the winters weren't so bad, I would move up there!

There's nothing more relaxing than being beside water and waterfalls are so spectacular. I love the natural falls moreso than the manufactured ones though. There's just something really soothing listening to them tumbling over rocks and through vegetation.

This is a really good nature walk. The pics show some nice rivulets and what looks like some signs of flooding. It's all as beautiful as it is exciting.

I love waterfalls. Especially the ones you hear before you see. Makes the hunt more fun.
