Came home gas furnace not working. Dh checking outside vent plugged with ice. Able to get it out. Changed filter-had just did that 2 weeks. But found out with our 2 dogs and 1. Should do it every 2 weeks. It was full. Glad we had wood burner going. Glad didn't happen in middle of night.

Amazing how planning and being prepared (knowing to check gas furnace vent, having a wood-burning stove at the ready) is so "lucky"!
You and your husband are the kind of folks who take care of themselves, and also take care of others.
Stay warm, stay safe, and look forward to spring!

Glad it was a quick fix and having a back-up heat source is always great. Stay warm with the icy vortex going through.

I'm glad it was an easy fix. Wood burning stoves are the best aren't they especially when the furnace starts to act up? Now you can relax and stay nice and warm. :-D

Uncle owns a plumbing Co. told me about vent. If we had not checked vent-ours run side of house. Would have set gas alarm off. was shocked how dirty filter was. but older house-pet hair like tumble weed.
