dr and I decided since everyone down this road works that we should make some repairs on our creekbed road. With all the rain we've had the last couple of months it was full or ruts made by running water and holes and bumps and it was terrible driving down it and even worse going up it.
Our neighbor works construction and he brought home a huge pile of broken concrete and rock and he put some on it but after he puts in a full days work it doesn't get done until after dark and he's already tired.
So, taking seven five gallon buckets we filled them with the broken pieces and put them in the back of our truck and trundled them up the hill and started dumping them in the holes and ruts. We made three trips with our buckets today. That's about 600 to 700 lbs according to estimates on how much a five gallon bucket holds. The top of the hill will need a few more buckets after the trucks around here go over it a few times. The bottom of the hill needs a lot more buckets but as long as the pile of concrete and rocks lasts we have the time to trundle it to the holes.

That's alot of work.... but I'm sure your neighbors will be so thankful. And now maybe everyone won't be slippin' and slidin' when it rains.

Wow Dooley!! 6-700 lbs. of concrete and rock is quite an accomplishment. I'll bet the neighbors will be surprised to see your fine work. A good time of year to get the task done. Be sure and give the truck a rest between loads. :)

P.S. Please be careful, we don't want to hear that you or DR are on the disabled list and can't garden.

We took a break between each load and didn't hurry any of it. Today, it is windy and cold so we aren't in any hurry to work outside and will probably take the day off from most everything.
